Tried to meander on the way down after work but still got in way too early, nobody here but us chickens and a Golden Tee...
Folks start piling in after 17 holes and shortly after putting out the food came... started with dueling flatbreads: cow -v- chicken and it's the Alfredo by a nose; seared ahi with calm, soothing gingers and blazing hot wasabi (yea overachieving horse radish!); calamaris with the cutest sweet tiny baby peppers; grouper in an almost-tempura batter plus citrus sauce; thin sliced warm brussel snouts in caesarian dressing; and a sordid bag of boiled shrimps, sausages, taters, and corns.
Thought I might have missed introductions while video-golfing but no. Unlike very nearly every other event we were not witness to pomp or circumstance. I happen to like pomp and circumstance with my breads and circuses and wish the various and delicious tid bits had been announced with a little too much flair and/or pageantry!
Service and staff were excellent, friendly and attentive. I'm not especially seafoody but the shrimps and fishes were well executed and it all kept coming apace with polite inquiries about sufficiency and satisfaction, "Can I get you...?" Hung out for a while yapping and rambling but made my way back home to my lovely bride in due course.
Thank you Hickory Tavern for having us over, and thank you Nikki for arranging another memorable evening out.
Four & change; my rounding is up...
