  • Disclaimer: This review is directed at Assured Automotive Repair service within the facility, and not Grand Touring as a dealership. If you value transparency, efficiency and integrity you should avoid Assured Automotive at Grand Touring at all costs. I was directed by my insurer to Assured Automotive at Grand Touring for some repairs after a fender bender - the bumper needed replacing and my AC was also damaged in the collision. My car was with Assured for a full week. From Tuesday until the following Tuesday. Upon returning my car to me, Andrew, the desk agent, stood next to my car for an uncomfortably long period of time as we waited for the AC to begin working. Five minutes, nothing, just hot air. He assured me that it takes a while to begin working, so we wait another five minutes, nothing still. More hot air. Andrew asked me to drive it home and give them a call if it was still not working. Within an hour of driving the vehicle away from the lot, I called back several times before getting a response that he would have to check with the mechanic and get back to me. The following day, Andrew was apologetic on the phone and said he was trying to arrange a time when I could bring the vehicle back to get the AC properly sorted out. Fair enough. This morning however, Andrew calls me saying the mechanic says there was a belt missing the entire time (I assume the AC belt) and that's why the AC wasn't working. But, because the mechanic didn't believe the belt was missing due to the accident they did not consider themselves liable to complete the repairs. Here are a few simple facts, before the collision the AC worked, after the collision, it didn't. The insurer agreed to that fact and agreed to pay to fix the bumper and the car's AC. That's why we pay for insurance. Furthermore, the invoice I have shows that a mechanic went through the effort of replacing the AC condenser and the car's radiator and everything that goes with that. But, it's only after the fact, the mechanic says there was an AC belt missing all along, but felt that was not their problem to fix, and also not their problem to ensure the customer was made aware of this at the point of the car being returned. As it happened, Andrew, who returned the car to me, boasted that everything is replaced and is as-new, that there is a lifetime warranty on the repair work, blah blah blah. More hot air. Thankfully, my insurer is picking up the tab, and has already agreed to complete the repairs at another shop. But the amount of my time I feel that Assured Automotive has wasted through either their own lack of internal communication, incompetence and/or dishonesty is unacceptable. Do yourself a favour, steer clear of this place.
