Paragon was referred to us by a lender that my husband and I trusted so little research was done on their services prior to working with them. Bari Clapick was the original person we spoke to there and she was very nice and very persistent in getting us signed up, but as soon as they took our money there was rarely any follow up. We gave about $2k with no positive results. After a lot of self research I managed to get my credit to where we needed it to be to get our house, about a week away from closing Mark Hagenbart the supposed CEO and owner calls me and says he is going to send us to collections and file a judgement (this is after we were done paying him) His exact words to me were "I don't care if you get into a house, you're the most egregious person I've ever done business with and I don't care about your family." Scared out of my mind that we wouldn't get into our house, I paid him about $800 over the phone for services I never received because we didn't want to lose the house. Never got a receipt and never heard anything from him again. Needless to say it was definitely our fault for not doing the research and trusting a lender who we ended up not using. There are sooooo many ways to improve your credit by just self educating yourself and working with a lender who's company has an in house credit specialist. These credit "repair" companies are a scam, they just send out disputes on everything and in turn just prolong the home buying process.
