We have had a mortgage with them for 10 years. In that 10 years we have not missed a payment or been late. Our mortgage just adjusted and we wanted to get ahead and see what offers were available before it adjusted 11/2016. The bank told us we had to contact the loss mitigation department. We filled out all the paperwork and submitted. Then were told that no we don't qualify because we should only have $400 left after all our bills are paid for the month! WTH! How am I supposed to live off 400 at the end of the month.
You can never get anyone on the phone and when you do they apparently have no common sense to speak of. The last representative who contacted me asked,
"Why are you paying odd amounts on your mortgage?"
Um because I can't pay the entire amount at the beginning of the month as I've tried to explain to you?" (hence the loss mitigation application)
" Could I apply for a payment plan?"
no, You don't qualify for that?
Apparently I don't qualify for much :(
I'm going to refinance my house through a credit union once the new year is upon us. I would recommend marking this mortgage company off your list before you get started looking for a home loan.
