| - I lived in Vegas Towers from June 2015 until May of 2016. I paid my rent on time and was a good tenant. We cleaned our apartment when we left and were not problematic at all.
When we first came into the office, Vegas Towers asked for application fees of $50 per person and an apartment hold fee of $100. They said that the apartment hold fee of $100 rolls into the security deposit of $500 when we pay that. The day we moved in, we paid our rent and the other $400 of the security deposit.
Fast forward 7 MONTHS, and Nancy calls me on December 27th, 2 days after Christmas while I was in Chicago. She said that "the bookkeeper was going over the records and found that we never paid the $100". First of all, the fact that they were calling 7 months later about this is absurd. They wanted me to come in and pay the $100 before January 1. I laughed it off. I told her that we paid the $100. Vegas Towers would not have held the apartment for us if we did not pay the $100. They tell me that thy don't have the money and that the burden of proof is on me. I don't have receipts from 7 months prior because that would be outrageous to be expected to keep them.
When we moved out, of course, they docked us for the $100 on the return of our security deposit. Now I could care less about this $100, but the way they treated this whole situation is ridiculous. I have called and emailed over and over and Stacy keeps telling me that she will contact corporate and that they will call me or she will call me back. It has been months, and as often as I call, I don't get a response.
Again today, I receive an email saying the burden of proof is on me. I tried to go into the office and guess what, I was denied. Security asks if I have lived there before and says that I need an appointment (which they won't give me) to talk to them. This makes sense, because as many people as they screw, they don't want old tenants coming back and complaining. This is the only logical reason to not let people on the property. The way they treated me makes sense, because they probably have this happen a lot.
Their bookkeepers are a joke. The ladies in the office are a joke. They will be so nice to you until they don't want to be anymore. Then, everything is your own fault. I had guests come to the apartment and they had my phone number listed wrong at security. I filled out all my paperwork properly. Every time someone came, they were turned away or had to wait for me to come down because the info was wrong. It took them 4 months to update my phone number on the security page. The entire place is a complete joke.
The apartments are very nice and upscale and they have a pretty good setup, but it's not worth dealing with the lies. I would strongly recommend never leasing with Vegas Towers. You can find an apartment that is the same size with a nice pool for 1/2 to 2/3 of the price. And guess what? You don't have to live in that dump of an area.
