  • We happened upon this place while looking for a quiet place for a few appetizers and a bottle of nice wine. Bocata did not disappoint! We did not have reservations but were seated no problem at a nice table by the window. The ambiance was beautiful: dimly lit, low music - exactly what we were looking for. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and had fantastic suggestions. We ordered the charcuteries plate to share which was simply divine! We followed this with the warm octopus salad and oysters. Our server paired our dishes with delicious wine (by the glass) and it was truly a great meal. The reason I don't give this place 5 stars is because they were all out of their specials (on a Wednesday evening?) and we had an unusually long wait for our drinks, +25 minutes. The server apologized and brought us a free dessert and glass of dessert wine which more than made up for the wait. I would definitely go back again.
