  • I have been on brewery tours all around the world and this is a great tour, and quite a good value as well. For $10, you get a souvenir and I think we all got around 2 pints of beer in total throughout the tour. They have a really good culture here as well, great team dynamic making it seem like a pretty attractive place to work. If you're a beer connoisseur, you probably won't be crazy about Steam Whistle's only product, their Premium Pilsner. The beer does deserve to be called premium, though. They've got big standards on what ingredients are used and are conscious about the environment all in the process. The tour guides are pretty upbeat and just all around great. But unlike the tour guides on brewery tours I had in Belgium, they're far from connoisseurs. They seem to only know about Steam Whistle and their own process. And frankly, I think it's a little silly to say your beer is the best in Canada. Never have I heard such remarks from a tour guide at a brewery or a winery. There's nothing wrong with having pride in your beer, and there's nothing wrong with saying it's your favourite, but please don't claim it's the best. Anyway, whether you like beer or not, I think brewery tours can be rather educational, and I think Steam Whistle pulls it off pretty well, so if you live in the area, you should definitely check it out! Try to make reservations on weekdays. They can get full on some slots at the most random times.
