| - While looking for a coffee shop in the neighborhood to take our bounty of Ronald's Donuts to devour, Cafe Teaze popped up in the search. I mentally bookmarked it after browsing all the photos, since coffee isn't really their specialty. Later when my honey mentioned the name, I was like "oh yeah, we are so there!"
Cafe Teaze isn't unlike the Vietnamese coffee shops that can be found in LA or San Jose. However, instead of strong Vietnamese Coffee, the focus here is on milk teas and Boba drinks. Although unlike the atmosphere in those places, it's much less stuffy here at Cafe Teaze. No stench of cigarette smoke wafting through the air. No Vietnamese gangster is gonna come out and break your phone and your arm for taking photos. In fact. It seems to be encouraged 'round here. Just don't be a perv with that privilege.
They have a fairly large menu, including some food stuffs from the restaurant next door? I'm assuming they offer drinks similar to Quickly and other boba chains. Since all of their drinks come from a lactose-free, yet dairy base (think powdered coffee mate) I wasn't able to taste any of those. We ended up with a Peach Black Tea, with the addition of Boba.
The tea was okay, if overly sweet. Probably could've used some milk to tame that sweetness. Since they don't offer any non-dairy alternatives here, it'll have to do. We all know that nobody is coming here for the drinks. You're coming here to be served by women wearing next to nothing. They found and hired some extremely friendly girls. Therefore making the experience much less awkward than it would seem. If you've ever been to a Hooters and most strip... *ahem* gentleman's clubs, you'll know what I mean. Michelle and Deanna were genuinely friendly, sitting down at the tables talking to customers all the while running drinks and food orders back 'n forth. I was just as impressed with their work ethic as I was with their uniforms.
They have board games available to play, friendly staff, and a Yelp check in offer. What more could one ask for? Perhaps only to make "Pasty Fridays" an everyday occurrence...
I couldn't really see myself coming here since there's not much for me to eat or drink. Yet gather up some friends, hit up Veggie House for dinner, get some drinks and sing karaoke downstairs, then end the night here at Cafe Teaze. You have the makings of a great night out, all the while not even having to leave the same shopping complex.
