I've been bringing my little dog to this park for two years in the morning and at night about the same time 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. always a good crowd of people nice people and nice dogs. There's a little shade and I don't understand why people say there's no water. There is water and usually bowls. To be on the safe side bring your own bowl. I work strange hours so sometimes I'm here at strange hours and I've never worried I've been here at 2 o'clock in the morning never been afraid. Yes there's a few homeless that live in the park but they usually stay in the middle part or behind the tennis courts.
The park has a great Splash pad and play area for kids. Picnic areas barbecue areas and two dog parks one for large dogs one for small dogs. I have to agree most dog owners are pretty lame picking up their poop. But there's a basketball court and Tennis Courts which are lighted on demand so you can play anytime day or night. There's an exercise area with equipment. There's a lower level large grassy area for football soccer flying kites with a track all the way around. It's actually very nice park and I'm very comfortable there.
