  • Just stayed here for the first time and was Highly dissatisfied! Prior to arrival we paid for our room in full, upon arriving the hotel held $100 for a security deposit- I get that. What I don't get is why in the world they charged me an ADDITIONAL $91.32. Before checking out I called down to the front desk and the woman, Shaina, said it was a mistake, that it wouldn't post, upon checking out, can't remember with whom we checked out with but she said it was our bank and the only reason she knew that was because she worked at a bank before. HA. Ok. So after checking out we realized we left a few items behind, called the hotel they confirmed and said they'd hold our belongings. So the next day we went to pick up our items, inquired about the additional fee and we basically got an "I'm sorry, send us an email & we'll look into it". I called the following day and everyone gave me the round about, Maribel said it was never posted to my account when in fact it was and I was clearly able to see that right on my phone!!. I spoke with her twice before she said "I'm sorry at this point it's nothing we can do call your bank and see if they can release the authorization" mind you it wasn't an authorization because it had actually posted to my account and taken the funds! She kept saying that my card was never swiped but I told her it had to have been to have such an odd charge. I told her I get the $100 security deposit as it is normal for most hotels to do & I got that right back, but $91.32 isn't normal. So I take her advice, call my bank and after talking with them for over 10 minutes they concluded that Westin Hotel definitely charged me the $91.32 the transaction was cleared and funds were withdrawn. So now I have to make like a 5th phone call to Maribel who upon answering my call told me she already put in to have the funds reimbursed To my account for the $91.32 that I was over charged!!! Would have been nice if she gave me a call to let me know they found the error and that it was on behalf of the gentleman who checked us in instead of having me call my bank and do all of this extra work. I was frustrated, stressed, annoyed. I think it was poorly handled. Everyone gave me different answers. I ended up doing more work than anyone else whose attention this was brought up to! I'll never stay at this hotel again, & it's such a shame because other than how disorganized this company is, the room we stayed in was beautiful, but was DEFINITELY NOT worth the trouble it's taking me to get my money back!!
