  • You get what you pay for -- sometimes. In terms of the location, the MGM is a bit south of the happenin' part of the Vegas strip. But then again, it really depends on what your itinerary is to decide on where it's happenin'. Room prices are decent when compared to the quality and type of room. The rooms were renovated not too long ago and has some new furniture and decor to make it appear more contemporary. However, compared to some of the newer hotels on the strip, you can definitely tell that this hotel is dated. If you don't plan on staying in your room a lot, the price is about right. Of course there are exceptions during the busy season when all the rooms in Vegas are all expensive, but other than that -- MGM is decently priced for the type of room you're getting. Expect to wait in long lines during check in, especially if it's between 3pm to 6pm. Also, if you have a bad back, don't stay at this hotel. The mattresses are SOOOO uncomfortable. I've stayed at this hotel multiple times and every time I come back, I remember why I never get a good night's sleep here. It's not because I'm partying or staying up late gambling -- nope. I can't sleep because the mattresses are way too soft and offer no back support. I called the front desk on the first night of my recent stay and they were of no help. They said that (1) all the rooms have the same beds and (2) that they were completed committed so they couldn't move my room. Bleh. Whatevs... I just drank a lot to fall asleep. Other than that. Large casino, well-kept, and if you have Hakkasan (nightclub) , KA (cirque show), or Craftsteak (see my review on this restaurant) on your evening itinerary, it's worth staying here on your next trip to Vegas.
