I live in the city, I work a lot and I eat out most of the time, and a lot of it is fast food. It's easy to get speedy and not pay attention to what you put in your body, but I always have this nagging feeling of missing good food. When I tried freshly picked multi-coloured tomatoes from Brickworks market I was reminded of childhood back in Russia and Ukraine when produce was full of delicious flavour. This was one of the things I was shocked to discover when I first came to Canada - how bland supermarket produce tastes. No more! With Brickworks and many other farmers markets around there is little excuse to eat bad food.
Check out the photos for a small sample of wonderful local food, grown and produced with heart and love, that awaits for you at this farmers market. BTW, those beignets are to die for!
