  • I'm not usually the type that goes for a $10+ burger, but I was wandering around the Strip & casinos with a friend & popped into Burger Brasserie after wandering around inside Bally's (I had no idea that we made it from Bally's into Paris). We arrived at about 4PM & were promptly seated. After being in & out of the 110+ degree temps outside, we were in desperate need of hydration, so it was extra-annoying that our waiter approached our table a couple minutes after we were seated but then when he was a foot away, he abruptly turned around & headed back into the kitchen for something. Two very long minutes later, he came to our table. We were prepared to order drinks & meals, but as soon as he took our drink order, he walked off! NOT A GREAT START, FOR A PLACE THAT CHARGES ALMOST $20 FOR A BURGER! It was 'happy hour,' so I think my friend got the best deal -- two cocktails for the price of one, while I stuck to an iced tea. We each ordered the caramelized onion burger ($17), but mine with the vegetarian patty, & we shared an order of fries ($7). My burger was very good though I think it's hard to go-wrong with cheese & caramelized onions on something. Another redeeming factor was that I was going thru my iced teas pretty quickly (I had 5 or 6 during the 75 minutes we were there) & the staff --not always our waiter-- did a great job keeping them refilled -- a lifesaver. Not any sort of view or much ambience inside the place, so we're paying the high prices due to the location on the Strip (again,no view of anything though) & *perception* that it's a classy! upscale place. If I'm back on the Strip with friends looking for an upscale burger place, I'd rather try something new, but wouldn't have any major qualms going back to Burger Brasserie -- if you're going to eat on the Strip, you can't be a cheapskate.
