| - We *LOVE* Lucky Dog! Hubby & I try to
take our four dogs once a week. Our pack loves running around and playing with all their friends. Also, LDBB is set up so dogs can be separated if need be-there's a large indoor off leash area as well as a small dog area inside. There's also two large outdoor off lease areas and a huge patio with fans & TVs so the dog owners can have fun too. And there beer. Tons and tons of beer-great local breweries are represented along with the classics. They also have a full selection of liquor & a small wine selection. The bartenders are super fun & give great service. What I love about these bartenders is that they don't hide behind their bar. They'll come around the other side and check on people, chat up the customers & play with the dogs. They are knowledgable about their extensive tap beer selection & will let you 'sample' any of the drafts in a shot glass if you aren't familiar with it. All
of the bartenders are dog owners and are really nice. Also, the bar has like a million TVs & a huge projector screen so you can watch sports if you're into that sort of thing.
You DO have to be 21. (Don't cause a fuss if you get there with your toddler and they don't let you in. It's a BAR. With DOGS. Don't even get me started on that rant...)
Lucky Dog also offers full service grooming with super convenient hours. I drop Rufus (Pomeranian mix) off with Dasha around lunch time, then pick him up after dinner when we bring the other dogs up to play. Rufus hates taking baths at home but he loves Dasha. She always does a fantastic job and Rufus always looks great! PLUS, on Tuesday nights, you can get a beer for yourself & a basic bath for your dog-which includes the grooming trimming nails, cleaning ears and the anal glands.
LDBB also has an excellent staff of dog handlers. We have boarded our dogs on a few occasions (we don't get out much) and the dogs don't get crazy when we leave them there. It's like dropping the kids off at grandmas for a weekend. My dogs especially love Charlotte, who is also a volunteer for Project HALO. You can tell that Charlotte (and the other dog handlers) really love dogs and you can rest assured that your pup will be well taken care of at Lucky, whether it's in daycare while your working or you drop them off for overnight boarding.
The owners Kelly & Randy are very active in their business. I see them at all the events(usually 1 or 2 big events/month) and I've seen Kelly behind the bar a couple times when it's gotten busy. You can tell these two really love their dogs and believe in their business. They have a great staff, from the groomers to the dog handlers to the bartenders. Every single person that works here obviously loves dogs and it shows. Overall, Lucky Dog Bark & Brew is a really fun place to hang out & drink beers. You don't have to have a dog, but you do have to like dogs. You will get plenty of kisses and tail wags from the four legged fur babies.
