Price chopper is cheap and convenient. For a lower priced store, it has an extensive selection of fruits and veggies, much better than the local Metro, which is supposed to be more upscale and charges for it.
Not only do they have a good produce section, it is a big store, so you won't feel cramped trying to navigate the aisles. Good weekly specials and a large baked good section also make this a better-than-average bargain grocery. I have better luck finding what I need here than I do at the higher end Metro. So why would I pay more?
Sure, you have to pay 25 cents to "rent" your cart, but you get it back, so no biggie.
Ample parking available, or easy walking distance in the Queen west/Ossington neighborhood.
Bring your own bags! As everywhere else in Toronto now, it's 5 cents per plastic bag.
