  • DISAPPOINTED... VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! I am a longtime member and I have never been so disappointed as I was today. I went into the store for a pair of new hiking shoes as I was having an issue with the pair I was currently using. I have been using Merrill MOAB for the past several years and replacing them every 6-9 months. For some reason my feet were hurting and I decided to see the experts at REI. When I finally got someone to help me, I explained what my issue was. Usually these folks are experts and have all the answers. Not this young man!!! All he would do is bring out whatever I asked for. Had to ask him to measure my feet which he did somewhat reluctantly. Then I told him to turn the measure around since he was using the right heel on my left. He was useless! Tried to get help from anyone else without success. If this is the type of help I was going to get I may as well do my own research online and buy online! I was frustrated. I left. Maybe I will take a ride down to the Tempe store???
