Awful experience. Left stranded at the airport!
I rented a car from Fox (along with airfare and hotels) several months ago and received my quote and booked it. Like most car rentals, they only allow payment by credit card. I don't particularly like credit cards and paid all mine off years ago, but opened a new one specifically for this trip and car. When I arrived to pick up my car, I was surprised to learn that additional fees would also be required on the same card (deposit, etc.) which put me over my credit limit. Totally my fault for not reading the fine print and confirming the total price in advance...no problem, I thought: just downgrade me to a lesser car and I'll cover the rental plus fees.
Unfortunately, the representatives at Fox refused to do that. They seemed in a hurry to send me to some alternative rental car company and rattled off nonsensical company policy as to why they would not honor my reservation. I explained that their arbitrary policy was leaving me marooned at the airport, but they callously dismissed me and my son at the rental counter in the middle of the night. This company's policies are almost as bad as their customer service...reason enough to warn my fellow travelers here!
