First, we've found that Desert Dentistry has become less and less kid-friendly (and I don't mean their lack of kids' books in the waiting room). They didn't seem to have the right size bite wings--ever--even with a 10-year-old. We also quickly found that there was a lot of "up-selling" going on, with any regular visit, when all we needed were regular cleanings. (NO we don't need fake bright white, glowing teeth; NO we don't want to buy a $220 mouth guard for sleeping--when the pharmacy sells them for a fraction of that...etc.). It seems like they saw that we had good insurance and wanted to cash in and maximize their income. After a few visits from each family member and constantly feeling annoyed with Desert Dentistry for a couple of years, we've finally switched to Sonoran Hills with Dr. Ito and could not be happier! It's always a pain to switch doctors or dentists, with all the new-patient paperwork involved, but it is worth it when you're not 100% happy with what YOU are paying THEM to do!
