| - So let me first start off by saying I don't eat seafood. At all. Allergies make life fun.
With that in mind, I'd actually be giving this place a 4/5, but I can't say that as everyone came out very happy, including myself. The only drawback I had was the steak, an 18oz NY Strip on the bone that was nothing particularly special, but definitely adequate. When I say adequate, I mean a steak I'd expect to get at a mom and pop 'steakhouse' in the midwest, not one of the nicer places in Las Vegas.
Mastro's has one of the coolest locations in Las Vegas. The exterior bar in the Crystal Shops is flanked by retailers like Audmers Piguet, Tom Ford and Richard Mille....I mean, its hard to walk into the restaurant when so many cool shops are right next to it....but hey, that's neither here nor there. It actually has nothing to do with the review, I just love watches. Actually, the interior design probably plays into other people's reviews, so...uh...idk, 5/5? Would interior decorate appreciate again?
The staff was amazingly attentive, down to Earth and incredibly good at their jobs. I was incredibly impressed with the knowledge of the somm, and our waiter was very, very good at his job.
Everyone got appetizers, the foie gras was incredibly good...and I foolishly shared with another at the table. Given the portion was like 2 bites in total, I got one. Still damn good.
Dinner came; steak was decent, potato was...well, a potato...hard to do anything with a simple starch that would be categorized as amazing, but it was an overall good meal. Everyone at the table raved about their seafood though, like...they loved the place.
If you're still reading this, ha. But yeah, I personally think 4/5 due to 'meh' steak, but overall I'd definitely come back for the great staff, great location and great wine list.
