  • One of the best No Frills in the city, and most of it due to the fact that it's huge. In the world of discount grocery chains, size does matter. Their selection is wide (they pretty much have every President's Choice item you'd expect to find at one of the Loblaw company's non-discount outlets, including Loblaws, Fortino's, Zehr's, City Independent, etc.), and everything is usually well-stocked. They have a butcher and fish counter, but sadly, no deli (I guess the last one is considered a "frill"). It does get pretty busy in there, especially on the weekends, but the wide aisles help. They are usually adequately staffed, and I never need to wait more than a few minutes at checkout. Parking lot is sufficiently large, have never had to drive around for a place to park. Their butcher counter seems to be tightly linked to a single supplier, Charlies Meats (signage is prominent everywhere). Their (Charlies Meat's) website has some interesting details about it. Hey, if outsourcing a butcher counter within a grocery store without one works, all the power to them. Let's get a deli counter deal in the works, too!
