| - A while back a few of us went to see "The Heat" , About 10-15min after the previews should have started an usher comes in to let us know "someone didn't do their job and had to transfer the the movie to this theater last minute" the person didn't set up the movie properly causing it to not start on time and it would be a few minutes. One other movie goer chimes in jokingly and says "so free popcorn for the delay the whole theater laughs. The usher sarcastically responds "umm yea, we have a few trash cans full, knock yourself out".
The laughing theater fell silent. The usher leaves We wait another 20min. Just as we were getting ready to ask for our money back the usher came back to let us know it wouldn't be much longer. This time the other movie goer seriously asks for some popcorn for the inconvenience. The usher responds again in an annoyed sarcastic tone that he could certainly help himself to the trash can full of popcorn. when your full theater has already been waiting over 30min for the movie to start, it's not smart to respond with such rude comments and 2nd Why isn't your manager in here addressing us? Just as the usher responded the movie started, saving the usher from the wrath of the entire theater. By this point we had waited about 40min for the movie to start. because they bypassed the previews I chose to watch the movie rather than get up ask for a manager. I thought the manager is bound to come in at the end and thank us all for our patience and offer some sort of consolation not only for the ridiculous amount of time we all waited but also for his ushers behavior? Yea no.By the time we got out of the movie it was late and clearly the theater was closed we decided it was too late to put in a complaint. I never went back to complain about the terrible midnight experience. I decided I would give the theater another chance. So now we come to my experience on the 20th. I came in with a bottle of water as I always do to just about every theater. The 1st usher takes our ticket and directs us to our theater. The 2nd usher quickly steps in front of me and informs me that I'm not allowed to bring my water into the theater. I inform him he's mistaken, it's illegal to not allow me to keep my water. He states "because we don't know what you really have in it we can't allow it"(implying its vodka) my fiancés says "come on dude you can smell it, it's water" the usher insists that I'm not allowed to bring it in, he offers to call the manager. At this point they are now making us late for our movie over a bottle of water. A few minutes later a manager by the name of BETH approaches us. I start to explain to her about my water, she doesn't allow me to get half way through my sentence when she starts shaking her head saying no, no, no. So I stopped talking. I stated it's illegal for you to not allowing me in with my water, any theater in Vegas allows you in with water. Beth states "well that's every other theater, that's not us" "we have a liquor license it allows us to deny you your water". I said "this isn't liquor this is water" She cocks her head back and sarcastically says "um yea well we sell it". Every statement out of her mouth wether I agreed with it or not was never presented in a way to diffuse the situation. I said I wouldn't throw away a perfectly good bottle of water simply because she wants me to go buy a $5 water from them. Water is a commodity in any day and age but especially the world we live in today. I said "Look, this isn't the first negative experience I've had here, you have a bad attitude and would rather upset a customer, have them turned away for a bottle of water, for not buying your $5 bottle of water, then to have my Money for the movie which is well over $20". Beth was not backing down. I said "well I'll be happy to take my money elsewhere, your customer service is horrible and if your willing to treat a customer like this over a bottle of water it doesn't surprise me of my previous experience"I turned to leave at that point she starts yelling at me. I turned around and said "again you are proving my point of horrible customer service, I've ended the argument, I've chosen to leave and you are resorting to yelling at a customer as they leave your establishment. I turned and walked away again as she continue to yell.We returned our tickets and another manager had to handle the return, I thought maybe this manager will apologize for the other manager yelling at me but no. We went down the road to another theater And guess what they let me in with my water. I understand, one of the ways a theater makes their money is through their concessions. But this is water. If I had asked for a courtesy cup of water or had some water from your water fountain it's still water. I wasn't bringing in a purse full of candy, snacks and soda taking away from your business. It was the principle of it all. Your managers behavior from the get go was unacceptable and only got worse.
