  • ** Definitely come at least once to the cheap date night with your significant other for the experience. Three course meal with smaller portions but good atmosphere and gives you a taste of finer dining without breaking the bank. Most of this review is for the experience of fine dining with three courses in a more boujee environment, more than the food which was good but not exceptional (except for maybe the first course). Cheap date night - occurs every first Wednesday of the month and is $50 per couple for a three course meal for two. Includes bread as an appetizer. Was definitely intimidated at first by the idea since I don't do fine dining often... Was I going to be the only person in basketball shorts while everyone was in suits? Or would it be the other way around? Ended up being a chill atmosphere with no dress code - just try to clean up a bit and you'll be fine. Definitely don't need to overdress. The ambiance is great for dates, and a good place to hold conversation while feeling relaxed, which is why I say go for the experience if anything. First course: Pumpkin Muscle Soup. Easily my favorite course of the three. Very unique pumpkin taste that was flavorful but not overwhelming, and got my tastes buds flowing for sure. Muscles in the soup sealed the deal, and the presentation was on point. Would definitely pay to get it in a bigger bowl if that was an option. Second course: Bluefish with rice, green beans, and pickled relish. A bit smaller than I would have liked, but I understand that fine dining is classy and not about stuffing yourself. Fish was nice and tender, just wished there were more greens on the side to go with it. Presentation was nice as well. Third course: Pavlova with lemon cream / chocolate truffle cake. You know they goofed on the dessert when my girl wanted to go to the gas station afterwards to pick up ice cream. I had a taste of both desserts since we ordered the two different options. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed in both. The pavlova was extremely hard to eat since the texture was so difficult to work with, and seemed to have too much cream. Hard to eat without having the whole thing collapse on you. Chocolate truffle cake just had something about it that was odd.. can't quite put my finger around it but it didn't seem sweet enough. The cream didn't go quite well with the cake. Id have been perfectly happy with something simple like a scoop of vanilla ice cream but this time the desserts felt a bit too extra.
