| - Well, whoever reads this I "HOPE" you do your homework. My wife and I called solar city because I had a next door neighbor who had it installed on their roof and raved about it. So, the sales guy came out and gave the entire rundown. All was well and we were on the road to get this in place. He told us we get "EVERYTHING". ( that was the key word ) so, they called and said someone was gonna come out and measure, get in the attic, and check the power panel. Ok, done. Took 2 hours for roof inspection, attic, panel. Few days later we get email of the inspection with blueprint of roof of where the panels will go. After that, a few more days go by and we get a call asking when would be a good time to get this installed. As I was talking to the rep, she gave a time and date. She also stated that nobody had to be home, they just need access to the back yard. I said what about the inside of the garage? She's asked what about it? I said, don't they need to get in the garage to install the BATTERY RACK? She said battery rack? I said yes, just like the sales person said we would get! She said, um...no. Huh?? She said you DON'T get the battery or the rack. "IF" you want that, that will be a.......EXTRA $5,000!! Whoa.....wait a minute. "YOUR" sales man said we get ( keyword ) EVERYTHING!! What happened to that?? Well, she said, he told you wrong. I said, then your company misled and deceived us. I said tell you what, how about you cancell this whole deal then. Which is where the running they tried to do to get us NOT to cancel. Mind you, this system we were gonna get if we were to purchase on our own would be $73,000!! So, they tried with two different people to get us to stay. I said, nope. No battery ( WHICH IS THE KEY TO THE WHOLE SYSTEM ) were not gonna go through with it. Well, needless to say they didn't want to give us the battery so, we didn't accept the deal. Just to let you know, the key to this whole solar system is the "BATTERY". If you DON'T have the battery YOUR SYSTEM WILL NOT work if your power goes out.......WILL NOT WORK if your power goes out!! How I know this, my good ol neighbor. Our whole street had the power go out during the night. I looked over, he's in his garage and guess what....no power!! I said, where's your lights? He said, I don't have any power! I said, yea, but you got the solar. He said, I know. I said, hmmm? Wonder why? He didn't know. I looked online and found videos of where people had power outages and some had the battery and some didn't. The people who HAD the battery had power!! Those who didnt......no power! Another time our street lost power during the day and guess what? Yup, my neighbor did NOT once again have power. I said, hey, how's that solar workin out for ya? ( not to be a jerk ). Lol. He said, yea, I don't have any power again. Wow, one time at night....one time during the day.....no power!! Yup, should have had gotten the battery!! So, to sum up this whole review......if you DON'T get the BATTERY your system will not work if the power ever goes out!! Just one quick thing, my neighbor thinks he's getting the battery. I said, good luck on that!! You only get the battery if YOU pay for it. IT'S NOT INCLUDED IN THE DEAL!! BEWARE.......
