| - First let me say that the sushi was fantastic. Fresh, flavorful, and fairly priced. If this review was soley based on the food I would give this place 5 stars. However, when I go out to eat, I also expect an "experience" which involves not only the food, but the atmosphere and the service as well. The atmosphere was fine - I only wish I could say the same for the service.
We entered to find the place full, but could see that there were several tables waiting to pay. There was no hostess to greet us and we waited awhile at the door to be acknowledged. Once we were approached, they cleaned a table and we were quickly seated.
We filled out our order form, then patiently waited to be acknowledged by our waitress (the place was really clearing out, so not busy at this point). Once she approached us (there was no "greeting" involved), we ordered our beverage, our food, and a to-go order for a friend who could not join us at the restaurant. We were asked several times to clarify our order - which was written on the order form - and we verbally gave the order for two rolls to-go. Seemed pretty straightforward, but apparently not.
Eventually we received our beverages - delivered by the other waitress, which leads me to believe our waitress was under 21 (could explain the lack of experience?). In any case, we were then served a white wine when we ordered red - and had to send that back - which then took them forever to deliver. The food also took unreasonably long to come (though there were rolls sitting on the counter), and when the Caterpillar roll was finally delivered to us, it was represented as something else completely (that we had not ordered) - so the waitress had to clarify with the sushi chefs what she was serving us.
I can only hope the service improves because the sushi was very good - maybe getting take out is the way to go here?!
