| - Ohhhh, Sweet Surrender...you can cuff me and take me away anytime; just don't let me go w/o your Red Velvet Cupcakes!
The majority of the 3 nights we spent at Vegas is a complete and utter blur. But, I do recall one morning after coming back from clubbing, one of my friends yelling, "I WANT cupcakes!" Err, I thought she was still drunk b/c I had no idea what she was ranting and raving about. Apparently, there was a cupcake/candy store located in the lobby of the Palazzo right before the guest elevators that I was oblivious to.
On Sunday, 3.7.10, we had 15 minutes to kill before heading to the airport and back to the city by the bay, so we decided to grab some cupcakes to take home.
SS is a whimsical store and is as cutesy as can be with several huge blue decorated cupcakes and cupcakes stands showcasing its beautiful cupcakes.

I bought the Red Velvet, Spring Garden, Carrot Cake, and Sweet Surrender. If I didn't bring the cupcakes to my mom, my fat ass would probably have eaten all four of them by myself. RVC is my fav, so I snagged that one and gave her the rest. The next day at work, I devoured the RVC within 5 minutes flat. *smile*
TASTE:
YUMMY! Even a day later, the cupcake was moist and light. It had just a hint of cocoa flavor to it. Ahhhh, and the frosting; the cream cheese frosting was piled high and whipped to perfection. It was decadent, rich, sweet, and had a faint vanilla flavor. In this case, the cupcake was nothing more than a utensil to DEVOUR the cream cheese frosting off!
PRESENTATION:
These babies belong on the cover of Bon Appetit and Martha Stewart Living. Words can't describe how beautifully decorated these cupcakes were, so please see picture.
SERVICE:
The lady who assisted us was very friendly and suggested which flavors were most popular. She carefully packed our cupcakes in a box for transport (each w/ it's own individual slot) and they were still in perfect condition upon arriving back home to SF despite some shuffling to the airport and turbulence on the plane.
Sorry, Sprinkles....but Sweet Surrender has me locked me up and has thrown away the key. And, I'm more than happy with that!
