| - First off, I will give them a little credit, I haven't seen AS MANY bugs creeping into the house so far this Spring since they did the initial service. I'll give them another treatment or so before I completely form my opinion on whether it's actually really working or not.
The kid who was selling the service stopped by one day when I was in the garage dealing with a contractor who was doing some work on my ceiling. Normally, I wouldn't even answer the door to a cold solicitation, but I was already outside and thought it was worth at least giving them a shot. He never mentioned anything about the service being an annual contract with services costing $109 every 3-4 months. He only mentioned the special rate of $65 for the initial service. AFTER I had signed, that's when he briefly (and quietly, hoping I would glance over it) mentioned the ongoing treatments for $109. By that point, I was already signed up. So, I would highly recommend that Sage management re-train some of these kids they have doing door-to-door sales for them. I felt very swindled, and had a bad taste in my mouth right from the get-go. So, if one of these guys comes cold-calling, be sure to ask about the ongoing contract, because they don't mention anything about it during their sales pitch.
I work from home so I have been here each time the techs have been here for treatments. The guy who did the initial service seemed to do a pretty thorough job. He was here for almost an hour doing everything on the list inside and out. Two other guys just dropped by for my first "official" treatment, and they were in/out in less than 10 minutes. I don't see how they did everything on the list in that amount of time, and I never saw them going through the yard with the "granulated treatment for the yard and planting beds." Even though they said they did on the "Your services performed today" receipt. So, I'll give it a week and will probably have them come back out if bugs are still present.
Basically, in a nutshell, the initial sales guy was kinda shady and didn't mention this was an annual service that costs $109 per treatment, and the guys who just stopped by sprayed some stuff around the house and left within 10 minutes. At this point, I don't feel that it's worth the cost of the treatments and will probably not be renewing this contract that I got swindled into after it's over. I will most likely go back to buying a $20 bottle of Home Defense Max from Lowes and doing the stuff myself and save my $109 every 3/4 months.
