| - Here's what people hate about car dealerships: its when they can't make a straight up deal with you, without sneaking in an upgrade, after the fact.
I'm OK with haggling on price (I actually kinda dig it), and I 100% understand they need to make a profit. This place has really nice salesmen, a great inventory and questionable sales practices.
Riddle me this: When you're trying to negotiate a price on a vehicle, wouldn't you think that includes the whole vehicle? Paint, steering wheel, engine, wheels, floor carpet and everything? Not these guys --- they'll have you negotiate on a "line item" of a vehicle --- Its an old sales tactic, but its one everyone hates. They're counting on you being emotionally attached and stick you with the upgrades afterward when you go to sign the papers. In this case, it was a clear coat package of $1500. I agreed to a high end price of a vehicle I wanted, A low end price of my trade in and I was ready to shake hands and do the deal. But they don't work that way. I'm not going to overpay. The wife and I stood up, said thank you and ended the deal, seeing it for what it was... No matter, They know someone else will come along and buy in.
Its what everyone hates about car Dealerships. I've been around the block a few times, and not all of them do this, but this one does.
Go in with your eyes open. Don't be a sucker here.
