| - So it's Christmas. I HATE posting bad reviews, it takes a lot for me to post them. But this placed earned this one.
For the first time ever we decided to eat out as we didn't have any guests in town. We made dinner reservations for 7:15. We arrived at 7:00. The place was so packed people were crammed in every available space like a can of sardines. The hostess (a brunette) told us it would be about 15 minutes after our reservation as people were hanging out and they were clearing tables. Well we stood in the entry way with our 3 year old for over an hour. We watched person after person come in that had a reservation and they were all given the same exact line. There were two hostesses, I happened to hear the brunette hostess tell the blonde one the line to tell everyone. It went along the lines of "we are waiting for people to leave but also clearing our empty tables. We will get you seated as soon as people clear out" When the poor girl got asked literally every minute by a different person (not exaggerating) how long until they'd be seated or how many parties were in front of them, she nervously played with her tablet then delivered the line she was told to give. She clearly was under trained. I felt badly for her. And if her or her manger is reading this, you did great (hostess, NOT manager) and it's your manager that is to blame for putting you in that situation completely unprepared. Whatever you made tonight, wasn't enough. You couldn't have paid me enough to do your job. When I left I could see the tears in your eyes and I should have said more than Merry Christmas to you.
We waited over an hour for our table to seat myself, my husband and our toddler. A lovely man with his family waited an entire hour longer than us. Well until we walked away. As we were enjoying our food, I looked to the hostess stand and saw this poor man and his son still waiting for a table while an empty table sat directly next to us. It was so bothersome that I sent my husband to invite them to our table! It's Christmas for goodness sake. He told my husband he'd finally been given a table, they waited for 2.5 hours! Here's my major complaint. If you're going to take reservations, seat them at least somewhat close to their actual time. This was complete lack of planning, experience, or a thirst for greed. Regardless of which (or all three) someone made a MAJOR mistake and I suspect it will cost you a lot of bad reviews and future business. The only reason you didn't get 1 star is your wait staff was amazing. So to you, the owner and/or manger, you get one star for being incompetent.
To the rest of the staff, 4 stars. It would be 5 if the people next to us hadn't waited literally 10 minutes for a plate so she could begin eating a meal she waited an hour and a half after her reservation to get. But don't worry, to make it up to the sweet ladies, WE bought their dinners.
I doubt we will be back. Texas De Brazil will get our business from now on. Or any other Brazilian steak house in town. Your food is great, with the exception of the lobster bisque, it for the lack of a better term, sucks.
Figure out how to take reservations you can handle. In the long run you'll make more money because you'll get return customers and positive reviews.
