I so wanted to love Via Brasil.
But I just can't give it more than 2 stars when compared to other Rodizios, even other non-chain Rodizios.
We were there at 4pm on a Saturday. We were one of only a handful of tables. The ambiance is pretty, spacious, even bordering on elegant. The salad bar has a few standout items (beef carpacio, Greek salad, mushrooms) But most wasn't.
I liked that there are a selection of items that are brought to the table upon request. But again, what we tried was lacking. The spinach as undercooked, the asparagus overcooked. The cheese bread was too big and rather heard. The bananas were under ripe and bitter. The demi-glaze wasn't reduced enough and the mint jelly was overly gelatinzed.
We ordered the Sterling menu and there are supposed to be 21 meats. We were there for almost 2 hours and only saw 11 meats. The rib eye and shrimp were probably the only two stand outs. Both flavorful and well cooked. But the lamb chops were gristly, the leg of lamb was too gamy and we are huge lamb fans. The salmon came with a wonderful sauce but was so overcooked. But worst was that the servers were few and far between. Even getting a refill of water was hard.
We eat at rodizios at least twice a month and I have never left one hungry, till here.
