| - Avoid at all costs - I am having to resort to filing as many complaints with as many outlets as I can at this point due to their horrendous service and the inability to get anyone on the phone. I hope I can save some people the hassle.
To give a small background, I came in for a small visit. The day of the visit I was told I would owe a large sum out of pocket. I specifically asked if this would be all that I would owe. She told me that it was, so I proceeded to be seen. I was told they would call me with results in a week. A week passes... two weeks pass... nothing. I had to call 3 times to get someone to tell me my results. It was not the doctor; they never sent me any of the documentation that was requested etc. I decided to let it go.
I then received a lab bill for another large sum. Confused, I called the office. I spoke with the front desk receptionist, who initially told me I would not receive any other charges, and she confirmed again that I should not have received a lab bill and she would have a lab tech look into it and call me. I waited a week, no call. I called back and they were surprised I was never called. They took another message. Waited a week, no call. Repeated this a third time, and asked for a manager. I was told Becky was the office manager and she was out that day but she would call me the very next day. Shocker, no call. Called her 4 times and left four separate messages over the course of 3 weeks... still no call. I called and got the woman who answers the phone ( not the same person who checked me in at the front desk) and asked for Becky's boss. I was told the medical director was Dennis Eckel. I asked to leave a message for him, and they sent me to a voicemail box. I left a detailed message and once again... no call back. I called again and reached the same woman who now accused me of "not wanting to pay my bill" and stated that I was just trying to get out of my responsibilities and was extremely rude. I asked to be transferred to Dr. Eckel and she stated that there isn't a voicemail box for him. I immediately was concerned that just the other say she told me that she was transferring me to his box and had me leave a confidential voicemail on it. If he doesn't have a voicemail, then where did she have me leave a message? Who has my personal information? This is highly unethical. She then proceeded to hang up on me. ( A true employee of the year, this one.) I called back, and she hung up on me again. I tried to call back 7 times that day and she would either pick up the call and hang up on me, or blind transfer me to medical records voicemail. Eventually she made the mistake of blind transferring me to an MA who was very nice and said she would try to get Becky to call me back.
Only after this did Becky call me. I explained the saga above. In the weeks that it took me to get to her, Valley OBGYN had also added another unexpected charge to my account of $6. She stated she would look into it. A few days later I received a voicemail from her. She told me that despite what I was told, I do owe the large lab bill but the $6 charge could be written off as a small balance write off. I figured this awful experience was behind me and I could move on. I paid the lab bill and tried to move on.
Then, I get a letter in the mail from Dr. McCauly, threatening to terminate me as a patient if I don't pay the $6 in the next 10 days. Further she indicated in this letter that her staff told her they tried to contact me via mail and phone with no response. It doesn't surprise me that her staff would lie to her, afterall they have no problem being deceitful and unethical in their day to day practices with patients. However I received no calls from them at all, and not a single letter in the mail until this one.
I called to speak with Dr. McCauly about her practice, and what do you know, no one will take my call. PLEASE save yourself and do not go to this practice.
