| - I am picky and vain about my hair. I am someone who's not afraid to spend a lot of money on my locks so long as it leaves me staring at myself in the mirror out of pure vanity after I leave, checking my reflection on every bus stop, making plans to go out that night just because I feel fab and I can. However, on this particular day I made a rash decision to try out Mosheta's $99 hair colouring deal. I was intrigued by the salon's chic decor and fashionista stylists. All I can say, is you get what you pay for.
What I wanted was a lightened up version of what I already had. I wanted what could be considered an ombre look, but I wanted my medium blonde hair to fade into super, white blonde hair at the bottom. What I got was an actual ombre look with a shade of brown that was only a minor improvement from my natural mousy colour. The haircut was okay, but the bangs sucked and to this day I still can't style them how I want. They are choppy, but not in a good way.
The stylist, Kelli, was quite nice, but I didn't trust her the entire time I was getting my hair done. Any possibility of me changing this perspective was entirely foiled when she washed the brown (brown that I kept questioning her about - why are you putting brown in? How dark is it going to be? I want blonde!) out of my hair and applied blonde to my SOPPING WET hair, left it for 10 minutes max before washing it out. At that moment I knew with confidence I would leave disappointed. I had never had blonde applied to my hair in that fashion before. It was unpleasant and uncomfortable. The whole time I was wondering how could this make my hair blonder?
It didn't. When I left my hair looked like a cleaned up version of grown out roots with blonde at the bottom, the same blonde hair colour I already had. I won't be going back.
**UPDATE: For the most part my hair has actually grown out quite nice. The bangs are still not my favourite, but I suppose I probably could have gone back to get them fixed. When I wrote this review I was particularly frustrated so I took out one or two of the lines that were perhaps unnecessary.
