  • Discovered other hotel with reservation had pets. We're allergic so had to come here at last minute. $60 more than Candle Wood Suites that didn't charge cancellation. $159 on a Thursday in mid April! They would not give a discount to a combat veteran or a fed employee. If you want vale it's 20 a day. Then if you go see a concert at coliseum two cups of water and a shitty small tub of popcorn is $20.03. Tax. Really? I'm going back to Roanoke and never coming back to this obnoxiously overpriced city of buzz shit. Then when we get back after seeing concert the sheets have blood stains. I called front desk and they said they'd send someone to change them. A young man delivered the sheets but didn't know how to change bed linen. disgusted and tired. Wife ended up changing them. We are well off but not rich. I expect better from a place like this when I'm trying to have a nice weekend away from kids. Other than that the place smells clean and has decent amenities. Update (15 minutes later) - wife had called front desk after she changes linen to ask for pillows without down/feathers. When man came back he said they were comping room for the night. Guess it's because I got grumpy with him when he brought the sheets. One star added. Maybe a bike ride on greenway will change my view of city.
