| - Like my Grandma used to say: "Sleeting in the Cleve? Get yourself some frocus."
I'm a liar. That darling woman never muttered those words, nor anything that could be mistaken for those words, even in her denture-soakingest hours.
But it was sleeting, and we wanted frozen custard. East Coast shined its gigantic World's Finest beacon through the gusts and precipitation and ending up scooping some damn fine product.
As a frozen good purveyor is wont to do on a snowy evening, the counter guy may have been playing a little Xbox in the back room as we sauntered up to the empty, external counter. He ran up soon enough, and within minutes, we were face deep in mounds of creamy, luscious mouth treat. #foodporn
Ok, the scoop: decent selection of flavors with a featured yogurt and custard rotating daily. More complex items get the monthly treatment - hooray for Eggnog Shakes! - but on your initial venture, the base product is a must. Smooth, decadent and (rightfully) a bit savory, East Coast's vanilla custard ranks second to BR FroCus in Lake Ridge, VA while well above any other regional yolky stuff. Just eat it.
Two quick A's to your Q's:
- Prices are fair for the amount steeped in to your cake cone. A guilt-free small runs two bucks and change.
- Whitehouse is a blend of vanilla custard and maraschino syrup. Evidently, the elderly go ballistic for the stuff.
- No, as a matter of fact, I cannot count.
