| - We took our cat here last week for routine work on her we do every 3-4 months for things she needs for the last couple of years. She cannot clean her hind end, being a super big fat cat, so they do the sanitary shave. We add a bath and nail trim as well. In the past, this clinic was great, and they did a super job. The staff was really friendly as well. This time, no one listened to me about how I wanted it done. I went over it a few times with the front staff, and I felt ignored. The employee's are not as friendly as they used to be. IF they are the same staff as before.
When we got her home, she still had too much fur on her hind end and the sides and when she went to the litter box, she right away had poop sticking to her fur around her butt, and by her tail. I specifically told the ladies in the front how to do it. They said they would relay the message to the vet techs in back. They apparently did not. We took her back, and I told him how to do it. He was angry at me and basically argued with me about it. Telling me that I did not relay what I wanted, so therefore they gave her a super basic trim. I told him I did tell the staff the way to do it, but they did not tell the back staff. It is not my fault they have a failure to communicate. This procedure is supposed to last for 3-4 months, not less than a week.
One thing that bothers me, is she had more fur around her hind end when we took her in today, and they took her to the back and she was there for about 15 minutes. Then they put us in a room with her and two vet techs. The guy is upset with me questioning his work. And showed me that she was shaved correctly. Sure, now she was. But she was not when we first brought her in today.
They need to quit playing games. If they cannot handle the job, I can find another vet. I did not like the experience this time and really do not want to go back there. I liked it because it was convenient. But sometimes convenience is not the best thing.
I think they have different employee's than they did when we first started going there. That is the only thing I can think of. They also gave my cat a bath, but this time, they didn't let her dry all the way or brush her out as usual, so she didn't look all sleek and soft. I don't care about that, but really, if you are going to pay for services, wouldn't you like to actually have it done right? I know I would.
We used to go to Ann road animal hospital, and still take one cat there. Well, maybe not anymore. That vet clinic misdiagnosed our cat twice by two different Veterinarians. And they really push procedures and vaccinations a little too much. I guess most vet clinics are like that. I would like to find a good old fashioned type of Vet that cares more about the animals, not how much more money they can make. Some of us are on very fixed incomes. Vaccinations are like pharmaceuticals for people. They all come with side effects. And the older your pet is, the more harm they can do.
