| - Worst.Place.Ever.
As others mentioned, this place is a disaster.
We made a reservation for noon on a Sunday. Called first and asked if they had a kids menu and they said yes and mentioned items such as grilled cheese, chicken nuggets, the standards. Arrived on time and had to wait for a table. What's the point of making a reservation??? Could see that people were recently seated, so they didn't bother to save us a table. It was an omen for things to come...
After sitting for 30 minutes, some clueless thing came out and asked, "hasn't anyone been here yet?" We asked her for a kids menu and she said they don't have one but could make anything for kids so I ordered a grilled cheese. She said that they couldn't do it but when I mentioned that I called ahead and was told they had grilled cheese she said that they would. Might sound minor, but my 6 year old won't eat meat.
We started off with drinks and I ordered orange juice for the girls. I asked if it had pulp in it and was told no. Again, any of you with kids no that this is a potential big issue. The juice was so pulpy that the straw stood up in it. When the waitress returned, I told her it was too pulpy and could we just get water instead. What a nice surprise to see two juices for $3 each on our bill (but that's hours to come)
My husband ordered a caesar salad. Our server asked if I wanted anything to start with and I said no that I'd just nibble on his. The caesar arrived and it was the most horrible salad I had ever eaten. I took one bite and literally gagged. It was soooo fishy. At first I thought the waitress was nice by putting some of my husband's salad on a plate for me. What a nice surpise to see that we were charged for this -- something we never asked for! Made the overpriced crappy salad $11 instead of $9.
It only got worst.
After waiting an hour, the waitress came out and told us that they ran out of turkey for the panini and would it be okay with chicken. We said sure, sounded good. What a mistake. After another hour our food arrived. Well most of it. The 4-year-old would have to wait. And wait. And wait. We did get a turkey panini and a chicken one. As the waitress explained, 'they found enough turkey for one sandwich.' Hardly. The bread was burnt, and all of our food was horrible, flavorless and inedible.
The only positive was that we wouldn't have to pay for this atrocious experience as we had a $50 groupon. Our bill came to $49 (for two paninis, a grilled cheese, starter caesar, 2 orange juices and kids pasta.)
But, of course, that would have been two easy.
They would not honor the groupon as that Sunday was a 'special event.' Really????? Are they going to claim everything that happens in downtown Tempe as a special event? What a joke.
We asked to speak to the manager. She was the worst ever. Could care less. Horrible little thing. What an attitude for such a troll.
Really ruined our day. Luckily, Groupon refunded our money and said that due to numerous complaints they received that they would no longer work with them. Still out $30 and 3 hours of my life that I can never get back.
It really, really sucks!
