| - Maybe they should call themselves "Desert Scammers"
I purchased an iPhone 5C replacement screen from them, and when I checked the part, I found that the home button was held in place with Masking tape and upon removing the digitizer's protective cover, there was a scratch across the length of the digitizer's back panel, along with a greasy fingerprint.
When I confronted them about selling me a USED part, under the assumption that I was purchasing a BRAND-NEW replacement screen, I got a bunch of BS explanations.
I was told that it's a "Hit or Miss" when it comes to the parts they get from their vendors. Some are USED and some are NEW.
I pointed out that they didn't disclose that at the time I purchased the part! AND, I paid full price, under the expectation that the part was NEW.
I asked if they tell their customers that the parts getting installed, when repairing their phones, might be used parts, refurbished, or remanufactured. That it's a "Hit or Miss" on what they are going to get.... To which I got NO response. And then I was told "everything now-a-days in this world gets manufactured from RECYCLED materials, and they work perfectly." - Yes I agree with that statement, but it's irrelevant to my situation, since manufacturing a new item with recycled materials isn't the same as selling me a USED part"
SO IN OTHER WORDS: SOME CUSTOMERS PAY FULL PRICE FOR NEW PARTS
AND OTHER CUSTOMERS ALSO PAY FULL PRICE FOR USED, REFURBISHED, REMANUFACTURED, PARTS.
It's a "HIT or MISS" on whether Desert Wireless is going to screw the next customer in to paying full price for a USED part.
If you do decide to get your phone repaired here (at your own risk)... Demand that you get NEW parts installed for the price you're going to pay. Because they are NOT cheap!
As for their customer service.... Oh so bad:
When I ordered the part, I was told that it would arrive in 3 days.
3 days go by, and no part, and no one calls me. I called them and was told it would be 4 days.
4 days go by, and no part, and no one calls me.
5 days go by, and no part, and no one calls me. I called them. And the guy that answered couldn't help me because this other guy "Wooki" took the order and only he knows what's going on. So, I was told that they would call "Wooki" and I would get a call back. 3 hours go by, no call-back. I called them again and asked what the status was, and the same guy tells me he doesn't know and that "Wooki" said he would call me. (Obviously he didn't) So then I'm told to call Wooki myself and find out what's going on. Really, Really, you're passing the buck to me to call your employee at home to find out where my order is? Seriously!!!!
After 8 days, I finally get a text message letting me know the part arrived.
What a joke of a business. They don't disclose what's really going on with the repairs, and customer service non-existent.
