I've been in this shop several times to get my nails filled over the years. I've come and gone but whenever I'm in a pinch they can usually get me in.
I've noticed that the prices regularly go up yet the service has gone down.
The good:
1. Kelly and her staff are absolutely the sweetest girls you will ever meet in this industry.
2. They clean up between clients
3. They offer refreshments
4. Kelly is fast and very skilled at her craft
5. Decent assortment of colours/gels/nail art to choose from
However in recent months there has been things that I've noticed that have made me less than likely to return.
The bad:
1. The place is cramped and tiny, like really small-say about 600 sq feet so it when it gets full there it's FULL. I guess it's ok if you go early in the day during the week but forget about it on the weekend!
2. The salon needs an obvious reno/facelift it's not very spa like
3. Prices have gone up at least 3 times in the past 3 years. A regular back fill will run you about $30 for a basic job it used to be $20
4. Over booking, had to wait 30 minutes for a fill, Kelly usually does my nails and she passed me off to another girl who usually does the pedi's. The job was less than stellar
5. They plop the toe nail dryer on the floor in the seating area after your pedi so they can do other clients while you dry, I get that they make more money doing this but it seems ghetto
6. Prices go up astronomically when you upgrade to anything from French to nail art
7. I have seen them do a pedi and file away at an acrylic set at the same time. Is it just me, but I think this is odd? It doesn't seem really relaxing to have two people work on you at once- different strokes for different folks.
8. Although they do clean up between clients the place needs a good deep cleaning. Lots of acrylic dust everywhere, grout has seen better days and because of the small space seems cluttered.
I would overall give this place a pass, Kelly is very good but things need to get back to how it was initially.
