| - Lousy experience recently with the service department. Came in to have back up camera repaired.
When diagnosing the problem they indicated no wires even connected from the camera so asked if ever worked. I owned truck from original purchase, camera always worked. They ordered a part. Came back in few weeks later. Dropped off around 11 am for 3 hour job.
Got a loaner vehicle (nice). Came back about 4pm. I was told the porters forgot to take my truck over to the electric guys. Waited till 6pm. Service guy nice, but frustrated with the process.
6:30 truck rolls in. Antenna is missing. They searched and found later. Got in, flipped down the camera, put truck in reverse, no image on the built in flip down screen. BUT, there is now an image on the head unit. Hmmm, turns out when they checked wiring they never bothered to look for wiring to the obvious built in camera, but instead just checked head unit. Turns out I didn't need to buy they $500 "adapter" they made we wait all day for. Along with that, the camera in the tailgate is literally a square camera in a round hole (they removed the factory one and jammed a new one in that doesn't fit flush) and has screw driver cuts all over the housing.
To top it off, they broke the clips on the inner trim panel near driver feet, so that's flapping around. Didn't bother to replace/fix. Extremely unprofessional.
Finally, my Tire air pressure light was now on. Guy took truck away to put air in. Gone for 30 minutes. Now after 7pm. Came back with news that it couldn't be fixed. I'll take to Discount Tire, they're competent.
I elected to keep the new camera, but am amazed at the lack of competence throughout the experience. Trim panel still flapping and camera looks bad, but little time to go back for another day, and little faith in their competence to fix the issues anyway.
