  • This past weekend my husband & decided to give Upstream a try. We were not disappointed. We arrived early because we were unsure of parking and anticipated possible traffic issues. Traveling there led to an unanticipated road detour but we still arrived early. Parking was no issue. This was a new location for us and it was very nice, clean and well lit once t got dark. There is a movie theater there too so we figured this is a great spot for dining & taking in a movie. It was a little chilly but we noticed plenty of out door seating. We were seated for dinner shortly after arriving and we had a wonderful waiter (Greg). His opinion was spot on with the recommendations for everything from cocktails to entree. We started out with the Spicy Shrimp Lettuce Wraps. Be prepared to create your own wrap-this was fun. My husband chose to eat the shrimp and pineapple/mango/Napa cabbage separately. The flavors were great. My husband had the Surf & Turf. He enjoyed every bit of his meal. His lobster was cooked perfectly and the claw meat was removed for easy eating. We eat out quite a bit with steaks being my husband's choice for his meal. He ranked his American Wagyu Flank Steak as 2nd best ever. His Surf & Turf had equality great accompaniments. I got the Sake Marinated Wild Sea Bass...MmmMmm Good. In looking at the meal I thought it would never fill me up. Oh boy was I wrong. This dinner was delectable. Not a heavy meal but filling. I was able to have desert afterwards. Everything on the menu looked outstanding. I am not a sushi person so I would not try it but the reviews are good. Oh I didn't mention the cocktails. These were real drinks. It is so disappointing to get a cocktail that is supposed to have alcohol but gets watered down-this was not the case. I would love to return for their brunch because this would be more of a sampling of the chef's creations. The bill was not the highest we've ever spent but it was up there. I read some of the other reviews and I'd say that this place is upscale so be prepared to dine well & pay well.
