| - Two weeks ago I had a bad experience. I told the lady that my middle finger nail was lifting and it was very tender, and that I was afraid my real nail was going to come off as well. She responded with a nod and said ok, and went on. She was working fast (they were busy) and she cut my pinky with her drill, accidents happen, so I wasn't worried about it.... Then she gets to my middle finger and once the drill hits it broke off the fake and real nail. It started bleeding instantly, and was bruised right away. She panicked and put towels over it, you could tell she felt bad about it. To make the bleeding stop she put on some harsh blue chemical and then superglued the cut.. She continued on and when it came time to pay she said the service normally costs $35 but only pay $25... I paid her $30 and left.. When I got home my boyfriend saw the chunk of my skin missing and couldn't believe I had paid for the service. I called the salon back and mentioned I've been a loyal customer and expressed my feelings about the problem and asked for a refund. The man on the phone said they didn't give refunds and that if I wanted to come in they would fix the problem there. I work in the service industry, I live off tips, and I deal with all kinds of people. Having my nail fall was unfortunate, getting the little cut prior to that, also unfortunate, but what bothered me the most was how the problem was handled. I will not be returning to this company, though I'm not happy about it, they have some really great techs! Kelly, Sam, and Ashley to name a few.
I just went to a different salon, named Starlet off of university and the 101. They took off my set that 7 day nail salon put on, Jackie the lady who did my nails said there was fungus growing in my nails and she wasn't comfortable putting on a new set until they've healed properly. She mentioned there was MMA in the other salons acrylics and that it is terrible for your natural nails. She said the problems with my nails could have been avoided by fixing the problem in the beginning and not just covering it up like a lot of salons do. Anyway, what's done is done, I'm just glad to have found a new salon that actually cares and puts time and effort into their clients and genuinely care.
