  • The Suncoast is a very nice hotel and casino in the suburban area of Summerlin, a known retirement community outside of Las Vegas. It is not a place to stay if you are looking for the night life or bars or casino environment found on the strip or downtown area (about 20 mi drive away). Yes, there are alot of senior citizens in the casino but it is no different than any other casino I have been in outside of the main Vegas area. Having said that, the Suncoast is a very affordable, clean and enjoyable place to stay that has a full casino and sports book. I stayed there on a recent road trip from UT to AZ and was pleasantly surprised at the size of room, cleanliness, and ease of getting in/out of the parking areas. The bed was firm but comfortable and there was a new 42" LCD HD TV and a small refrigerator and coffe maker in the room as well. I booked the room earlier that day and was given a room with a view of the JW Marriott golf course (the complex is adjacent to the Suncoast hotel) . The Suncoast had just opened up a TGI Fridays inside (not sure what restaurant closed and was replaced) but it was nice to be able to sit down and get an affordable meal for our family of four without spending a fortune. There is still a bowling alley and movie theater in the hotel as well. We also ate breakfast at the Bagel Express and I couldn't disagree more with the negative review below. It was a good, quick, deli style breakfast that was also a very nice alternative to a buffet. The plain, buttered bagels were $1, not sure how anyone could complain about that price???!!!??? I am originally from NY and it was a real NY style bagel. My husband had a bagel with egg, cheese and sausage for $2.50. So overall, look at the location you are booking, if you do not want to be on the strip or on Freemont street, as we did not want to be, this place is great. If you need to be on the strip, stay on strip, pay the price, deal with the crowds and the overpriced food and don't complain about the Suncoast. Based on this experience we will stay here again and are likely to try the other Coast casino properties.
