Lived in a 3 bedroom apartment on the second floor in Camden Summit for a 12 month lease. Reasonably priced for the square footage. Two car garage is great for extra storage and also a guaranteed parking spot(for two of you, obviously). Location is easy to access the 215 freeway. Pool and hot-tub were nice and the pool only closed down for 2-3 months for repairs??? Basic utilities were very affordable split three ways as long as you don't run the air conditioner below 75 during peak heat summer months. Staff was accommodating...until the end of the lease and moving out. I have known nearly 10 residents from this location who have all had issues with the final bill. Specifically the carpet. Our carpet was in the middle of its "life," as they were calling it. It wasn't spotless and it wasn't filthy. My roommate had an older car that leaked a bit of oil every so often which he would get on his shoes but take the shoes off at the foot of the stairs before entering the carpeted area. They claimed to have to have the carpet completely removed from the ENTIRE apartment because of "oil" that had been tracked all throughout the apartment. The carpet apparently could not be cut and laid like every other carpet company in the world is able to do but rather that it was one solid piece. There was no negotiating with the staff, especially the manager, on the dealings with the carpet which cost close to $1,000 to be "removed and replaced." Carpet aside, they also charged for both bathtubs and the oven being excessively dirty which was ironic because the 3 of us roommates cleaned the apartment with SOS pads in those exact areas. Our deposit only covered the cleaning and part of the outrageous carpet bill which were both non-negotiable per management. It was only at the end of living in this Camden property had we learned from other residents throughout the Las Vegas valley that they had similar problems at the end of their lease or if they had to break the lease. I believe it is a complete scam to nickel and dime the residents who are initially blinded by what is advertised to be as "living excellence." I have references to former residents from Camden Summit, Camden Tiara, Camden Pines, and Camden Palisades who were great residents throughout their lease without a single late payment or caused problems within the community and yet were charged for outrageous carpet bills and shown no mercy by Camden property management. After this experience I would not recommend any Camden property as a place to live. Spend a few extra bucks a month and you can get a house around the corner for less that the 3 bedroom apartment.
