First visit to this festival in Chandler. The main attraction was supposed to be the Ostrich races, but those were marred by not enough seating and not enough Ostriches. The antiquated ostrich arena was already full for the 5pm show and we had to stand in between bleachers and glance over people to see the races. The old guy at the microphone spoke too much and wasted half the show with kids chasing after animals. They had two ostrich races and also one with zebras and camels. The camel skit was likely racist as the riders were clearly just wearing middle eastern costumes and had no idea how to ride those animals.
The best part of this festival was Eddie Money and Starship - the outdoor stage had great sound.
They had some other shows that we missed, but the midway and food was right out of the state fair guide. Since when did winning a stuffed animal cost $5 to throw 2 balls now? Admission was only $10 and that was good, but somehow they managed to screw up getting out of the place after the concert. It was just one lane open to get out and road rage is a good possibility among people leaving in that mess. Oh yeah, eat at Moreno's Mexican, great carne asada and beers only $5.
