While it's an older venue there have been some valiant attempts at modernization. The facility itself, in the heart of the UNLV campus, is clean, the staff is friendly and the seating is universally decent. The stage seems to be set higher than most theater style venues so I'd recommend sitting about halfway up the theater for an optimal view where you feel close to the performance but not so close that you're tilting your head and leave with a kink in your neck.
Not sure if this is the case with all performances there but on my visit, they offered water, soda (maybe alcohol?) and a variety of moderately priced snacks. Be warned, however, that we were only allowed to bring water into the auditorium so snacks and such will have to be consumed outside the theater.
The restrooms are clean, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful and parking is easily accessible.
I'm a Las Vegas native who's spent time living in Seattle and Salt Lake City so I know all too well the unfortunate lack of culture here but I applaud UNLV and Ham Hall for the part they do in bringing a little more of it to my beloved Las Vegas!
