  • Hi Yelp family! I just wanted to let you know know about the great experience I had at Bogart's and I hope you'll support this business. On Aug 6, 2016 I was working out at the zoo in Moapa when a beautiful black GSD wandered into the zoo. I had to grab him because he was nearly identical to my dog and I imagined someone would be missing him terribly. I could not reach his owner through his microchip so I made the decision to take him back to Las Vegas as he was very skinny, about 20-30 lbs underweight. I called a good friend who is a veterinarian immediately and she told me the first thing I should do before bringing him home is bathe him thoroughly. And thus I made my way to Bogart's upon recommendation by my best friend, Dana. Bogart's is conveniently located near Tropicana & 215. Dana, Lobo (dog's name which we later found out), and I basically stormed through the store because Lobo is very hard to walk on a leash... and very strong! We made it to the back where they have tubs to bathe your pets. The tubs are easy to use and make washing your dog very convenient. The staff was SO friendly and gave us everything we needed. They came over and loved on beautiful Lobo. When we were finished bathing him, they refused to take payment and even gave us a 30 lb bag of dog food for free plus some treats. These people are true animal lovers and great humans. We couldn't be more grateful to have chosen Bogart's that day! Dana had previously adopted one of her dogs at Bogart's from Heaven Can Wait Animal Society. Her dog, Harmony, went through their 'Pups on Parole' program-- look it up, it's a great initiative. Every Saturday, you can view the pups available for adoption.They also have lots of food, treats, toys, and accessories to choose from. We came and went in a whirlwind. Thank you to the wonderful people who work there. Long story short, I finally got in touch with Lobo's owner and she did not seem concerned nor did she want him back. I attempted to keep Lobo for the past 2.5 weeks but he does not get along with my pack of 4 GSDs. But I'm happy to report that he went to a new home last night that will be a great fit for him! TL;DR Caring staff, pet adoptions, lots of food and supplies, and convenient location!
