| - Las Vegas offers the most poker action anywhere in the world. 30ish different poker rooms all within 25 miles of each other. Most within only a few hundred feet from each other. Of course, no two are exactly alike, but for all intents and purposes, you can break down all poker rooms into 3 major categories: Destination rooms, tourist rooms, and locals' rooms. Destination rooms, the top echelon of the Vegas poker scene include Wynn, Bellagio, Aria, and Venetian (for purposes of this review, I'm excluding the WSOP as it it seasonal). These top four rooms differentiate themselves from the tourist and locals' rooms by taking themselves more seriously. They do not drop a jackpot rake, so no bad beat jackpots or high hand jackpots are awarded. For lack of a better phrase these rooms are simply where serious poker is played.
The Wynn takes the idea of pampering the player to an entirely new level. USB ports at every seat; spacious layout with no concern of bumping into players when entering or exiting your seat; private bathrooms exclusively for poker players in the poker room itself; sports betting counter; Genesis Bravo list management software; $2/hour comps; extremely comfortable adjustable chairs; and finally, an exceptionally professional and knowledgeable staff of floors and dealers that truly make you feel at home.
In closing, I have lived in Vegas since 2004. Been playing poker since before then. I play to win and to enjoy the atmosphere. The Wynn provides great action in a beautiful setting. To me, it's the perfect poker room.
