| - When I saw that Matt's had four stars on here, I was anticipating something pretty great. After eating there, I felt duped. I waited for almost an hour to find that there were only eight things on the whole menu, and none of them were worth the wait or the price. I got the special of the day and it was, kindly put, less than special. The omelet was cold, bland, and nearly empty of filling and flavor. My boyfriend had the cold and dry pork with less-than-thrilling eggs. The only saving grace was the strawberry jam, but when jam is your only redeeming factor, you've got some work to do. After trying to power through this underwhelming meal, I got the check and thought "THIS is what they think that food was worth?" I entirely regret my decision to go to Matt's. I felt deceived by the four star review and felt like my fellow Yelpers deserve more honesty than that.
However, since then, I had the pleasure of going to Mark's Cafe in Tempe (at Rural and Guadalupe) and had an absolutely incredible experience. Rather than wasting your time and money at Matt's, I suggest going to Mark's. Great food, great price, great selection, great service,... Take your money to a breakfast spot that will earn it.
