| - Just had a great experience at JoAnn. As a baby-new sewer, I'm still just figuring things out. The lady at the cutting counter (I believe her name is Margaret, if I remember correctly. Or something to that effect) was SO helpful I felt like I got better just by chatting! I asked her a few newbie questions about how to cut and sew different fabrics, and not only was she happy to oblige, she went out of her way to help me find needles, patterns, and more, and gave me pro tips along the way that I wouldn't even think to ask.
Also great selection (from what I can tell), nice environment- I was nervous given the bad reviews but I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed my time.
Not as many beads and jewelry stuff as Michaels, but more fabric, for sure. Lines can be a bit tedious.
The checkout lady was meh- not rude at all but not really jovial either- didn't really make my day any better or worse. I tried to be friendly, but she sorta missed the wagon. Eh, maybe not a people-person.
5 Stars for Margaret/Fabrica, 3 For checkout, 4 for everything else.
