  • Had my first experience with Fork and Boot today. I was not impressed. I ordered the Chicken and Waffles, the Shrimp and Grits, and the PB & D (Pork belly, egg, and cheese on a grilled donut). I was one of the first people in line, and was told "15-20" minutes by the girl who took my order. I came back after 20 minutes to get my food and was told that it wasn't ready and they would bring it in to me. They asked for my name at that point, and also asked what I had ordered (not a good sign). I gave them my name, what I ordered, where I was sitting, and double checked that they would bring it me inside the brewery. I went inside and grabbed my seat again. I waited another 20 minutes and went out to the food truck to check (yet again) on my food. I chanced upon the girl who took my order bringing other people's food I to the brewery. She saw me and said "I'm going to go make yours now"(I had been waiting forty minutes at this point). I waited another 20 minutes before going back out determined to just wait it out. At that point the girl who took my order saw me and started putting together my order. As I was waiting for her to hand me the last of my food, a gentleman was ordering his food and was told "15 minutes" and someone else waiting outside for their food laughed as if to say "yeah right, if you get it in fifteen minutes I'll eat my hat". So, I obviously was not the only one experiencing a ridiculously long wait. Now, the food. Shrimp and Grits was average. Wasn't out of this world, but not bad. The Chicken and Waffles was dry. I was thankful to have a drink to wash it down. The star was by far the PB&D. The pork belly was tender and flavorful, the donut was soft, sweet, and crisp from being grilled. It was excellent. All in all, I probably would not try this food truck again. Honestly, the wait was not worth it. Even if the donut sandwich was great, the terrible service and other mediocre food didn't make me want to try again. I'd skip it.
