| - Not sure where my old, in depth review went to...
I've been coming here for years, best dim sum on the west side. In fact as far as Phoenix goes, it doesn't get any better.
I'm so glad they reopened after their fire a few years ago, those were tough times, had to go all the way downtown to the chinese cultural center & then you have to brave parking, for dim sum that was merely comparable.
The staff aren't real friendly, many speak little english & aren't impressed with my feeble attempts at what chinese I recall, the owner/manager was more friendly years ago, I think she's kind of burnt out & doesn't seem to care, certainly not as enthusiastic a reception as in bygone years, but the food makes it definitely worth it. The dim sum offered isn't as extensive on the weekdays, but at least you can get an early lunch fix; after 1 the pickings slim, & at best only the main contenders. Weekends is where it's at, but there's always quite a wait, & if you want egg custard tarts for desert you best be there early.
Hot tip: you can order ahead & take-out - great when you have out of town guests HOWEVER always carefully check that you received everything you ordered & paid for before you leave, especially the bigger your order is, because there's no going back. Even after nearly a decade as a loyal customer, it's like oh well, so sorry, have a nice day, better luck next time. If you're lucky they'll tell you they ran out of something you ordered, & not charge you for it.
